GECO is preparation for educators and caregivers (i.e. teachers, education coordinators, tutors, boarding home parents & youth workers) to work with missionary kids / third culture kids, as well as anyone wanting to find out more about working with MKs. Use your training and experiences with kids and apply it to a new culture context and demographic of students. Activities include worship, class time, interactive activities, simulations, and small groups. Meals allow for added relationship building & discussion times.
Some of the topics covered:
MKs Issues
Cross-cultural Transitions
Worldviews
Personal Care
Spiritual Vitality
"I am loving Mexico and my kids. I miss my family and friends -- which is really the only costly thing for me. I am blessed. I think of you guys at GECO often and how well I think I was prepared. That is still in my top 3 conferences. And it is still probably the one I learned the most from."
Peggy, a teacher in Mexico
